Great Success Many of our parish high school graduates are going off to college. Although we will miss them, we pray for their collegiate success. Some are also going to the workforce or career training. We equally pray for their success. Three undergraduates deserve particular attention: Mike DeFlorio, Brian Mesquita and Tommy Ward. These three served at the Altar from 5th grade through 12th grade. We definitely will miss their faithful and cheerful service. In October, the call will go out to our youth from 5th grade up to become altar servers themselves.
Parish Council: A Ballot for the elected representatives appeared in the Bulletin last week and again this week. You were asked to tear off the Ballot and place it in the collection basket this week or last week. You were asked to vote for all six names because the Parish Constitution calls for six elected representatives. Besides elected members, the council consists of ex-officio members, parish organization representatives and even appointed members. Please return the Ballot in the collection basket today or drop it off at the Rectory.

Discover Camp had another successful season. They have vacated the school and now the momentous task of transitioning the school building back to parish use has begun. As landlords of the building our responsibility is to clean, wax, polish the floors and bathrooms and then return all the classroom furnishings for Religious Education, parish meetings and socials. Wish our small Buildings and Grounds committee luck to getting things back to “normal.”
Holy Rosary is now in partnership with Immaculate Conception Parish on Gun Hill Road in The Bronx for food collection. Next Food Drop ….. Sunday, September 15th
Our Religious Education Program on Wednesday @ 4:30pm and Thursday @ 4:30pm has just two (2) teaching spots left to fill, both for 6th grade. The theme for 6th grade is easy: The Bible! You don’t need to be an expert. You know more about the Bible than you think. All you do is teach the stories, the people and the words. The accompany text book gives you all the hints and what to cover. Give a call to the office and pick up a catechist form in the office or the vestibule of the Church. Aura or Anna in the Religious Education Office can make arrangements to talk to you. 769-0030 x 123.
Next Sunday, August 18th, the 9:30am Mass will become 9:45am With the addition of Religious Education session on Sunday mornings, the classes need time to leave the school and come to Church. This is the reason for the change. Thank you for your understanding.
